Health and wellness / Client project / Public site
LouWellSpa
A Louisville med spa moved off Wix onto a Next.js site with a gated launch process.

Overview
What it is
LouWellSpa is a medical boutique and IV lounge in Louisville, Kentucky. The old Wix site had duplicate copy pages, dead analytics, and only two real service pages. The rebuild has service and concern directories, plus team, visit, booking, and contact pages.
Scope
What the site includes
- 01
Service and concern directories with detail pages
- 02
Team, visit, booking, pricing, and membership pages
- 03
Permanent redirects for the old Wix pages and PDFs
- 04
A contact form that emails the practice
Role
My role
I was the website build lead. I worked with the agency's account lead on direction, built the Next.js site, the media pipeline, and the release gates, and ran the domain launch in September 2026.
Build
Technical notes
- Release gates
- Three levels of checks. The strictest release gate fails while licensing, crop, content, or indexing blockers remain open.
- Media
- Original photo archives stay out of git. Build scripts make the web versions, and a publication manifest decides which images production can serve.
- URL migration
- A crawl of the live Wix sitemaps mapped 15 old pages and PDFs to new destinations with 308 redirects. Three more wait on pages that aren't published yet, and three retired store pages have no replacement.
- Indexing control
- Production stayed noindex until an explicit switch was approved for the domain launch. Preview deployments fail closed behind credentials.
- Next.js
- React
- TypeScript
- Sanity
- Resend
- Playwright
- axe-core
- Vercel
